I like to think that if some maniac kicked in our front door in the middle of the night

or broke a window, then started crawling in with his hit kit, then I'd figure it out.

But the truth is, I'd probably be beaten to death, my girl would be raped and murdered,

then our children might perish while tied to their beds, screaming for our corpses to

save them as fire followed smoke to, bring them to us in some confused afterlife.

Hopefully they'd be spared the rape their mother endured, the beating I took, but you

know how it goes in such situations, the kids sometimes get it the worst, especially

if they're the primary target as in the Otero family murders perpetrated by BTK that

I've mentioned so many times before.

As a father, I spend a lot of time worrying about my role as the first land defense of

my home.

I know that if there's a noise in the night, I'm the one, without question, that's expected

to check it out.
