No, well thanks for inviting me, it's great. So I read your book, preparing for the Perry

Menopause and Menopause. I was in Dubai by the Swimpool, reading this and a lady swam

over to me and she goes, it's so great to see a man read in this book. Wonderful. And I

said to her, I was like, you know, this is something that is interested me in. Menopause

and kind of the changes that have happened, that happened all the time with women as they

get older, hasn't really been brought to the forefront of conversation. I think you've

done amazing work with this book and with all your work on social media and general media.

Talked me through a little bit about how you've ended up in this position of

Menopause. It was never in my plan actually. If I'd met you 10 years ago and you said, I'd

be doing all this work, I would have just laughed and said, no, don't be ridiculous. Menopause

is just some hot flashes, isn't it? But actually, I'm a physician. I'm not a gynecologist,

so I've done a lot of hospital medicine. So I've dealt a lot with really important diseases,

so heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, dementia, quite a lot of psychiatry, it's a clinical

depression. You know, diseases that affect men and women and then I went into general practice,

was a GP for 15 years. Started seeing more menopause or women and they'd come to me mainly with

sweats and flashes. I think I might be menopause or I treat them with HRT, but then there was always

this, oh, why are you giving HRT? Surely that causes breast cancer. I've worked part time for the

last 20 years because I've got three children and I've been a medical writer as well, so I've

written for healthcare professionals done a lot of education through the Royal College of GPs

and other platforms, but I've also written a lot for patients. So it's quite a different

style as you can imagine writing for non-healthcare professionals. So I've done that and all sorts
