thank you so much for listening thank you for supporting me and today I want to talk

about why optimism always wins about why it makes you happier, it makes you more fulfilled, and why it makes you more money.

Really, and I'll back that up with some of my you know classic case,

mindfulness, hopefulness, but first let's add some sauce to that

statement let's make it a bit more specific and let's back it up with some

research so you don't think me saying optimism is the way is just wishful

thinking the other day read an article it was in saying optimism is the way is just wishful thinking.

The other day, read an article,

it was in Harvard Business Review,

and it's titled, why cynics

are less likely to succeed.

A cynic, just in case you don't know

the verbiage cynic is someone who is cynical right and I'll summarize it here and then let's talk about what we can take away from it and the article is not too long and you can check it out yourself, but it dives into the centuries old mindset that says that success in life is this cutthroat game where you have to sacrifice values and relationships to get ahead.

Everyone is conniving and you have to be more clever and more competitive in order to win.

And it references Machiaveli's advice in the Prince, which says that leaders in business should appear virtuous,

but only when it's useful and they should be ready to act in the opposite manner when needed.

And that really captures the cynical worldview that so many people hold that life
