Our Feng Shui 2 adventure continues this week

and since we have a first look at the system,

I'd like to give you guys a mini update on how the setting has changed.

The original Feng Shui combined a lot of really great tropes about Hong Kong cinema.

There's the over-the-top kung-foo, gritty gun violence, and jaw-droppingly absurd special effects.

But Hong Kong action also included something that I think is depressingly absent from Western action movies, and that's light-hearted magic.

Now, our own Action Angel Lala might be a little bit out of place in Hong Kong action,

but certainly powerful sorcery would not.

The classic Big Trouble in Little China does a great job of drawing on these

tropes and I think is a wonderful celebration of that aspect of the medium.

Fung shui does a great job of combining all these factors

to create a setting that supports each one individually and together.

The basic premise of Fung shui is that there are powerful sources of life and magic around the world called

Feng Shui sites. Possessing a Feng Shui site gives the owner unimaginable power.

As you can imagine there are all sorts of petty tyrants, dictators, and warlords

throughout the generations that have sought out Feng Shui sites and tried to claim them
