Mc Savage, welcome back, everyone.

It's a fun time to be following conservative politics in Canada. There's

been a bit of a crack up going on, several different factions competing for the soul of the

conservative identity. And, you know, there is a federal election going on right now. It doesn't

really feel like it because Mark Carney has felt increasingly embedded as the new prime minister.

But nevertheless, there is a federal election happening.

And who knows, the conservatives might still win it.

I mean, they're not that far behind in the polls.

Depends on which poll you look at, but it seems increasingly unlikely to me.

Well, Pierre Polyev, the leader of the Federal Conservative Party, has been giving off

not the same affect he was giving off three months ago. I mean, for several years, he was pretty

cool and collected. He really owned the discourse here in Canada. And over the last few months,

he's just generally seemed like on the back foot a little bit,

like he's been caught off guard.

None of his talking points have really resonated.

Did you see those TV commercials about like Carbon Tax Carney?

They were trying to make that a thing.

Yeah, well, he's a, he's really into, he likes alliteration too much, and he likes, you know, these kind of little

slogans, you know, acts the tax, bring it home. He has these little alliterative nicknames for people.

By the way, Carney has axed the carbon tax, so it doesn't really resonate.
