I thought today I would give you a thought from Proverbs 1911 regarding provocations.

What is a provocation?

Well, it's when people do things.

I know imagine that, right?

That tempt you to be angry or annoyed or that just result in you being angry or annoyed.

And when that happens, here is the Bible verse for you.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger and his glory is to overlook a transgression.

All right, I'm going to read it one more time.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger and his glory is to overlook a transgression.

All right, what is discretion?

The discretion of a man? What is it?

Well, discretion is good judgment or wisdom or good sense.

Like, to be discreet, to be a person with discretion is a very good thing.

It's just how good you know how to make a good judgment call.

So let's imagine you're having a lovely morning and something blindside you.

Someone failed or someone forgot or someone overlooked or someone sinned against you in some way.

And what they did just immediately took away your joy and you feel wronged.

And you want to set the person straight.

You're either angry on the inside or you're tempted to be angry on the inside.
