This is the fourth and final part on the War of Austrian Succession.

In the beginning of the year 1743, the main theatre of the War of Austrian Succession was Italy,

where Spanish forces were making a concerted effort to take advantage of Austria's distractions elsewhere

and to conquer the peninsula. The main battle happened in February at Camposanto,

with a Spanish force of some 14,000, facing a slightly smaller army of imperial troops together with a contingent from Savoy Piedmont.

Both sides suffered heavy casualties, but more so the Spanish.
