0:52.2	recovering neuroscientist and famously heterodox political thinker Sam Harris. We'll also be
0:58.5	joined by the co-founder and CEO of a remarkable generative AI startup called resemble.ai. We'll
1:05.4	start with a conversation between me and Sam. Many if not most of you probably know Sam because
1:10.4	he's been on the show a couple times and I've been on his show a couple times. Sam is spoken
1:14.6	with greater concern at greater length and with greater intelligence than almost anyone out there
1:19.7	about the toxic effects that social media has had on social cohesion and political polarization.
1:25.7	He's deeply and rightly concerned about the potential for synthetic media created by generative AI

1:46.2	synthetic media. Yeah, well a lot has been happening. What has caught your attention of late? I'd say
1:52.5	lately the use cases of deep fakes in scams has really caught my attention and had me kind of
2:01.4	concerned, have you heard about this new, well the lovely term is pig butchering? No, no, that's
2:09.9	I'm not sure I want to know more but okay. I'm afraid you're about to learn a little bit more. So
