Hey everybody, you know every week I start off by saying, we got a great one, you know, for a change.

And I think you figured out by now that when I'm saying that, I'm almost always lying.

Not this week.

Because my guests are Carol Lenig of the Washington Post, who with her writing partner, Phil Rucker,

have written two number one New York Times bestsellers on the Trump presidency,

a very stable genius, and I alone can fix it. And she's been covering the investigation

into the January 6th storming of the Capitol by the House Select Committee. Joining Carol and

myself is Ryan Riley, who has much the same beat for NBC News. And we will be talking about the televised hearings that are starting this coming

Thursday in prime time and what we can expect.

Now, Congressman Jamie Raskin, who did this podcast a couple months ago, has since said

that the hearings will, quote, blow the roof off the Capitol.

So what potential bombshells will Americans be hearing about Trump's role in the attempted coup?

There will be testimony to the fact that on January 6th, when Trump was watching TV in the White House,

that he kind of liked the idea of the mob

hanging Mike Pence. There will be testimony from a number of administration officials,

including Attorney General Bill Barr, that they told Trump he had lost the election and

that he knew he lost the election.

Meanwhile, just to worry how much I hate the NRA, the gun lobby, my former Republican colleagues

who refuse to acknowledge that there is no reason for Americans to be carrying around

assault weapons.

And to be such transparent assholes about it.
