Former President Donald Trump briefly took the stand in his own defense in the Civil Defamation

trial brought by Egin Carroll.

The New York trial will decide the amounts and damages Trump must pay the former magazine

columnist for statements he made when he was president in 2019.

Last year a civil jury found that Carol proved that Trump had sexually abused her in a

department store in the mid 1990s and then defamed her when he denied her

claim.

CNN's Kira Schenel breaks down one of the three questions

as lawyer asked him in court. She asked him, do you stand by the testimony in your

deposition? Trump said 100% yes, that the jury had seen earlier in the day excerpts of Trump's

deposition where he denies aging Carol's claims he calls her a whack job

he says she's mentally ill and he says that he doesn't know her.

Trump also testified that he doesn't know her.

Trump also testified that he didn't tell anyone to hurt Carol in his statements

and that he quote, wanted to defend myself, my family, and frankly the presidency.
