July 23rd. Vice President Kamala Harris kicked off her presidential campaign

in the battleground state of Wisconsin today.

She used her first rally since announcing her bid for the White House to draw a sharp contrast

between her record and former President Donald Trump's.

I took on the big Wall Street banks and held them accountable for fraud.

Donald Trump was just found guilty of fraud on 34 counts.

Earlier today, top Democratic leaders

threw their support behind Harris.

Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer

and House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries, both gave their endorsements.

And Schumer pushed back on criticism

over how Harris was chosen.

It was a bottom-up process, the enthusiasm in this big diverse representative party was

amazing you could you could it was palpable you could cut it with a knife.

Lawmakers are weighing in after US Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheetel resigned today.

Cheetel has acknowledged her agency, quote, failed during the assassination attempt on former President Trump at a Butler

Pennsylvania rally earlier this month. House Speaker Mike Johnson called

her resignation overdue and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said Cheetal did the right thing in

stepping down.

There needs to be answers as to what went wrong and I think her resignation is an important step in that process.
