A tough bipartisan border security bill has failed in the Senate for a second time with some new

holdouts.

Here's CNN's Manu Raju.

Yeah, in fact, this bill did worse than it did back in February.

Some of the Republicans who had previously backed it were not in

supportive of at this time including Senator James Langford and there were three

additional Democratic no votes including Senators Corey Booker

La Fonso Butler and and also Kirsten Cinema.

It failed initially in February because Donald Trump,

before it was even released, came out and guessed it, urged Republicans to kill it,

Republicans on the hill said it did not go far enough.

This time, cinema and others rejected it because they believed Democrats were using it for

political reasons to try to deflect blame for what's happening on the border

onto Republicans. After the bill failed, Democrats are again arguing that Republicans

aren't serious about fixing the problems at the southern border.
