It's 2013 and Caroline is pregnant and uncomfortably hot.

She's in Jordan, and despite the massive bump, she's on a mission.

Do not mess with a woman in her third trimester.

Caroline hobbles up to the sandy-colored tower block that is Al-Mawasa Hospital,

a facility specialising in injuries requiring reconstructive surgery.

She's here to meet anyone whose life may have been devastated by detection devices that failed

to identify bombs.

It was really important for me to try to find somebody who, if you want, was a victim of the crime.

Many Iraqis injured in bomb attacks crossed the border to receive life-saving treatment here.

Sometimes for months on end because their injuries were so severe.

Caroline has made contact with a young woman called Henin Alwan.

And she had really horrific burns from a suicide bomb.

The bomb that injured her so badly probably did pass through a checkpoint

where the bogus bomb detector was used.

As she enters the ward, Caroline feels apprehensive.

But the instant she meets Hanine, that's replaced by compassion and a steely determination.

Hanine is petite and wearing an azure headscarf.

It frames her face, scarred from the double burns she suffered in a bomb attack a few years earlier.
