China is willing to be a partner and friends with the United States.

That was China's President Xi Jin Ping talking to American business leaders last night,

as he tried to woo U.S. companies to fix the decline in foreign investment in his country.

The event in San Francisco was a chance for she to appeal directly to CEOs

who have grown increasingly wary of China's slowing economy

and the way it's being controlled.

This is she's first visit to the US in six years,

and yesterday he met face-to-face with President Joe Biden

on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum, or Apeck.

Biden said the four-hour talks were productive,

saying he's confident the fraught US-China relationship is improving,

and both sides have agreed to communicate more.

After the meeting, China agreed to do more to crack down on fentanyl production,

which often makes its way from China to Mexico,

before it enters the US drug market and devastates families.

She is also meeting with Mexico's president later today at the Apex Summit.
