Columbia University's deadline for pro-Palestinian protesters to pack up and move has come and gone so now the college says it started

suspending students but they're still not going home. We demand divestment we

will not be moved unless by force.

These repulsive scare tactics mean nothing compared to the deaths of over 34,000 Palestinians.

One of the protest groups posted on social media that they've now barricaded themselves inside

one of the main academic buildings for undergraduates, Hamilton Hall, which was the site of the

University's 1968 occupation.

Some colleges have made progress with negotiations, though, like Brown University, which said

it will hear arguments for divesting from companies with links to Israel if the campus's encampment

ends within the next few days. But there were also dozens more arrests yesterday, adding to the

hundreds that have been seen since the start of the college protests. Meanwhile a Jewish the The White House is telling Hamas leaders they should accept the latest proposal by Egypt to end the war in Gaza.

Israeli officials tell CNN they'll send a delegation to Cairo today if Hamas goes as well.

I asked CNN's Ben Weedeman to explain what's in the deal.
