Police officers in riot gear arrested dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators

at Columbia University overnight. D. used flash-banged grenades to breach Hamilton Hall, where some

protesters had barricaded themselves.

CNN's Miguel Marquez was on site, where he says police used a SWAT vehicle to get into the building.

They were lifted up to the second floor.

They said that the individuals in there had barricaded the doors with everything from chairs and

tables to soda machines. There weren't many people in there. Police now say it is

done that everybody that was on the encampment for the last two weeks has been

moved out or arrested that everybody that was in the hall and has been either moved out

or arrested. The university has asked the NYPD to keep officers on campus until May 17th.

And a violent confrontation has broken out between pro-Palestinian protesters and Israel supporters at UCLA, leading the university to request help from the police.

The clash came hours after the university's chancellor called the pro-Palestinian encampment

on campus unlawful.

People in Florida are now banned from getting an abortion if they've been pregnant for more

than six weeks.
