House Republicans are facing pushback from within their own party, after Speaker Kevin McCarthy launched an impeachment inquiry into President

Joe Biden without holding a vote first.

Former Vice President Mike Pence weighed in from the campaign trail in Iowa.

I would have preferred to see the House of Representatives proceed on the basis of a vote,

but I refer that. I defer rather to the leadership.

And Senate Republicans are nervous that an I defer rather to the leadership.

giving Biden a boost in the run-up to the election.

Meanwhile, the White House is set to send a letter, by CNN to top U.S. news executives, urging

the media to, quote, ramp up its scrutiny of House Republicans.

The decision by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to move forward with an impeachment inquiry

despite not holding a vote among his members to do so

is being seen by the White House as an acknowledgement of what

is suspected all along that Speaker McCarthy did not have the votes to move forward and

did not have the evidence to garner that support.

Vladimir Putin came face to face in a highly anticipated meeting today. Putin said the pair had quote a lot to discuss as they met as a

Russian spaceport in the east of the country. The talks lasted more than an hour and were

watched closely by the rest of the world because US officials say an army than an arms

arms deal could be on the table between the two countries.
