Hezbollah and Israel looked to be backing off after the two traded strikes across the Lebanese border over the weekend.

Yesterday Israeli forces launched what they called a preemptive strike against Hezbollah targets

in Lebanon, which Hezbollah responded to, saying it fired more than 300 rockets and deployed

several dozen drones toward Israel, describing that as the first phase of their retaliation

for the recent killing of their top military

commander last month. CNN's Paula Hancock says more.

Fes Israel believes it has prevented a more significant attack from Hezbollah

by striking dozens of launch sites in the early hours of Sunday.

Hezbollah's chief Hassan Nasrallah says he believes the attack was a success, targeting

military infrastructure deeper inside is really territory

but the IDF says there was no damage to its bases.

The heavy strikes however do not appear to have derailed talks on a ceasefire and hostage deal in Cairo, there's been no breakthrough, but all

sites have agreed to continue working-level discussions this week.

The body of a missing hiker has been found, while hundreds of rescues have been taking place in Grand

Canyon National Park. Flooding triggered by monsoon storms on Thursday forced local authorities

to shut down the area to tourists, prompting several emergency evacuations.

CNN's Camila Bernal has more.

This is an area where hikers go for the beauty, for the serenity,

but it became a nightmare for so many of them.

In total, 104 people had to be rescued.

The governor of Arizona, activating the National Guard, they used a Blackhog helicopter to get people out of this area.
