Hello from CNN I'm Joe Beck with the five things you need to know for Thursday

October 24th. With less than two weeks to go before the election, Vice President

Carmelah Harris has been pulling out all the stops to sway

undecided and persuadable voters.

Last night, she attended a town hall in Pennsylvania hosted by CNN, where both the moderator Anderson Cooper and the audience members pressed her on border security.

You did raise your hand saying a debate when asked that border crossing should be decriminalized,

but obviously that is not your position.

I never intended, nor do I, will I ever allow America to have a border that is not secure?

I believe we need to deal with the illegal immigration. There needs to be consequences.

Harris also drove home her message that her leadership will be different than President Joe Biden's.

I bring to this role my own ideas and my own experience.

I represent a new generation of leadership on a number of issues

and believe that we have to actually take new approaches. And unsurprisingly, and,

unsurprisingly, she took the opportunity to repeatedly attack her rival,

former President Donald Trump,

at one point labeling him a fascist.

I do believe that Donald Trump is unstable, increasingly unstable, and unfit to serve.

Meanwhile, Trump has been making some promises around health care.

We will spend more money on health care than any other nation, but think of that.

You know, we do, I don't know if you know we spend more money by far by far than any other

nation but we have more chronic health problems also at an event in Georgia with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump said he'd quote,

Make America Healthy Again and would get toxic chemicals out of the food supply.
