Large-scale tech outages have hit airlines and businesses around the world and they're scrambling to respond.

The FAA has grounded all flights from major U.S. carriers, including Delta, United and American

Airlines, regardless of their destination.

Microsoft said it was investigating an issue preventing users from accessing its apps and services,

and the outage is also impacting airports, media companies, and the London Stock Exchange in Europe.

We asked CNN's Mark Stewart for the latest.

This disruption appears to stem from an issue with the cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike.

That's what industry experts say.

Microsoft Windows is among its clients.

One of the company's main products is called CrowdStrike Falcon. It's described on its website as a

platform that can help detect possible cyber security threats. Crowdstrike told

customers early today that it was quote, aware of

reports of crashes of its software on Microsoft Windows operating systems and

that engineers took action to address the problem.

It's been a truly unprecedented few weeks in American politics.

Last night, former President Donald Trump

officially accepted the GOP nomination for President in a lengthy speech at his party's National Convention.

It was his first public appearance since a gunman tried to assassinate him at a rally on Saturday.
