The Israeli military says it's killed dozens of militants on the ground inside the Gaza Strip

overnight.

It's part of what Israel calls its expanded ground operation. the miles into Gaza. As that was happening, the number of people killed during Israeli strikes on

Gaza since October 7th rose to nearly 8,000. With the death toll coming from the Palestinian

Ministry of Health in the West Bank, getting data from

sources in the Hamas-controlled strip.

And a lack of aid getting to civilians inside Gaza has also led to looting, as CNN's

Melissa Bell tells us.

Palestinian Red Crescent says there have been 94 trucks that have managed to get through an extra

10 went through on Sunday. That is a tiny proportion of what they should be getting through.

We've also been hearing and seeing from inside the Gaza Strip those images of people

desperately trying to get their hands on UN supplies inside UN warehouses.

That's one of the issues prompting continued calls for a humanitarian pause in the fighting.

With sources telling CNN, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting today.
