The UN is warning that the situation in Gaza is getting more and more quote

apocalyptic and people there don't have anywhere safe to go.

Israel's war on Hamas has moved into the south of the strip a place that once

provided some refuge for people fleeing from the north.

A top UN emergency relief official described the Israeli forces actions as a blatant disregard for basic humanity.

But Israel's military is continuing to blame Hamas for using people as human shields.

It says two Palestinian civilians have been killed for every one Hamas militant.

And spokesperson Jonathan Kornrikus told CNN he thinks that's a good ratio compared to other conflicts.

That ratio is tremendous, tremendously positive.
