Welcome to the Prayers of Rest podcast. I'm your host, Ashrida Chuchu, and today we're praying for

parents who have lost a child. If that's you, I invite you to personalize this prayer for

yourself. And if that's not you, then consider praying

this for someone who is going through infant loss or miscarriage, or even the loss of an adult

child, and then text them this prayer, this episode, with a short note that you've been praying

for them today, because it might be exactly what

they need to hear. That gentle nudge that God sees them and knows them, and he's listening to them,

and that you, their friend, are praying for them. So as we begin, take a deep breath,

as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from Psalm 56, verse 8.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle.

You have recorded each one in your book. Let's begin by reciting God's goodness,

praising him for who he is and for what he's done in our lives. Heavenly

Father, you see our pain. You're the one who keeps track of our sorrows, and in your goodness,

you stay close to the brokenhearted. surround us with your love i thank you

that you hear the cries of those who have no words those who experience the deepest grief

the darkness of loss and thank you that you are present with my friends, even as they mourn the loss of their child.

So take a moment to reflect on this relationship and on this loss.

What has God been revealing about himself, his goodness, his heart that you can

praise him for today?
