honored. First of all, Mike Willan is kind, down to earth, a great family woman, cook, just all the

things. She always makes me this fantastic iced coffee drink when I go to her house in a mason

jar with a fun straw. And usually there's a cat or two walking across the

kitchen counters. Mike Willen is an author and a home decorating expert, a style guru, but she never

feels stuffy or unreachable. And that's why people love her and that's why she's my friend.

I've watched her transform her once old green barn into a now beautiful white masterpiece

Home is packed full of such down-to-earth brilliance. I'm telling you, as I was reading through it,

I thought, my friend is so smart. I've got to quit with this intro, but trust me, I could go on. Here's Michaelan with her thoughts and cozy, minimalist prayer on the

five-word prayers daily. For years, I secretly felt guilty because I longed to be the kind

of person who volunteered her home for gatherings, parties,

small groups, and baby showers. But I always hesitated because I wasn't happy with the state of my

house. I was grateful for my home, of course, and I knew that some people in the world didn't even

have a home with walls and a real roof and bedrooms and plumbing.

So it felt really wrong to give my family room the side eye because everything felt off and I didn't

think it was pretty. I had art that wasn't hung, walls I hadn't painted, and designed decisions to be

made. I thought decorating should be simple,

but those decisions felt overwhelming. It's not wrong to long for beauty, and I'm guessing,
