Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week, daily devotional where we share the word, prayers in our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

We're going to talk about something today that I feel passionate about, and it's just so critical.

It's always been critical, but I feel it today maybe more than ever because of how

strongly the world pulls families apart. How do we have unity in our home? Such an important

issue and something I'm excited to dive into on the show today. Matthew 1225 says this.

Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.

Now in context, Jesus has just healed a demon-possessed man and people are asking if he's the Messiah and the Pharisees are trying to throw doubt on this by claiming that since he healed a demon-possessed

man of demons, he must be Satan. That power taking on a similar same force. It's ridiculous. It's a

smokescreen, a way to discredit God, but that's what Pharisees always did. But I love how in this verse,

even as Jesus is rebutting them, it speaks so strongly about strength

coming from unity and on the other side of things, what happens when a home is divided.

We can learn about a completely different issue, even from this powerful Jesus juke moment, right?

So the truth is homes do crumble when they aren't unified. And we see that all the time across

our country. I know even in our family, my husband and I realized early on in raising our kids

that if we weren't on the same page, we were going to be in serious trouble because our kids would sense it.

So we needed to be unified quickly because when our homes aren't unified, Satan can get in there

and cause a lot of trouble. So how do we unify in our homes in a real practical way?

I'm not an expert. This is just what I've learned and am currently walking through myself

and our journey of marriage, family and raising kids. So here I go in what I've learned. Number one,

talk to each other. So important, I think. So often we

want to brush things under the rug that need to be talked about in our families. And obviously,
