Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, in our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. Relationships, humans, we're tough to deal with, right? I think one of the toughest is family relationships. We've dealt with friendships and

relationships multiple times on the show, but I want to dive into dealing with relationships

0:26.0

inside our family that are sometimes tough. I'm sort of thinking about extended family here.

0:31.6

In-laws, siblings, people we're connected to by blood, but not necessarily live in our home.

But we sometimes have a difficult

and while our kids are respectful and share many of our beliefs, we have young people in our

1:36.0

home that we don't agree with about everything. Our entire house is not 100% on the same page

1:41.8

politically. We don't all like the same kind of music. We see things

1:46.1

from different lenses, and sometimes that results in a debate to some degree. My belief is that

1:52.4

as parents, the goal is not to raise robots. So many reasons that is a no and not effective in the

1:59.3

long run, and we can talk about that later. But the goal is to

2:02.3

bring up kids with a strong enough core and have a family with a strong enough core that we can

2:06.9

have differences and stay strong as a unit still. Extended family is a bit trickier, I think, and all of

us have people in this category that we are either related to by blood or
