I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Okay, let me ask you a question. What if someone said to you, I have the secret to life?

I know how you can really do this thing, no matter who you are or what you're facing.

You would lean in and listen, right? You'd be all in. Well, Paul did tell us the secret.

It's in Philippians 4, the last chapter in our study on joy. Maybe you know what I'm talking about.

Maybe you've forgotten it, or maybe you've never heard it in the first place. In any case,

I love what he

says about the secret to life, which is not so secret for the believer. And we'll get into

exactly what that is in just a minute. Remember that book that came out some years ago,

The Secret? Man, people were going nuts about that and buying it off the shelf because everyone on the

planet, it seems, wants to know a secret.

Any secret, first of all.

We don't like to be kept out of the loop about anything.

But definitely, we want to know about the secret.

Whatever that secret is.

Certainly, the press of that book made it seem like the secret was the secret to life

and happiness. And I bet some of you listening even bought that book, didn't you? You don't have to

confess or be ashamed of it. We all long to know more about how to have joy and fulfillment.

Even we believers want to know about a secret if it's put out there like that. It's so interesting to me, though, because the

truth is we already know. We know the secret to life. We know the secret to joy. We know the way

to be happy and fulfilled, and we know that apart from Jesus, it's not happening. And yet, we still go
