Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

0:05.7

word, prayers, in our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me,

0:10.3

which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent. I'm so looking forward to this week

0:15.2

as we continue on in our Hardest Things Emphasis Month, based on my first book,

The Seven Hardest Things God Asked a Woman to

do. But remember, this is just as much for men as for women, and I hope we have a lot of men

0:27.3

listening, in fact, because we're going to talk about a very important issue relevant to both

0:32.5

men and women right now, that of leadership. Specifically, I want to get into what kind of leaders should we be

0:39.3

and what kind of leaders should we be following. I have some feelings about this, especially

followed and led well god asks us to both lead and follow and i think

1:19.2

depending on our personality we find one and easier sell than the other it's natural to lead

1:24.9

if you're a type a born leader and it's not nearly as easy to follow on the other hand if you're a type A born leader, and it's not nearly as easy to follow.

1:30.2

On the other hand, if you're more of a natural follower, you find it awkward to lead and may not

1:35.0

even understand or believe you're called to lead in any way. It's true that our personalities

1:40.0

play into our areas of strength, and we need to be who God created us to be because that's where we find

1:46.0

our greatest influence in this world. But that doesn't mean we aren't then responsible to do other

1:51.1

things. So we aren't off the hook in ways that don't come natural. We just need God's help more in

1:57.0

those areas I've found. Leaders will mostly lead, but we also sometimes are required to follow.
