Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word prayers in our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

This is going to be a special week for me because I'm going to talk about something that changed my life completely.

I mean that. It really did.

Back in 2012, just six years ago, I was already an author, already speaking all over, already a

mother and a wife, and not a young woman anymore. At least that's what my kids tell me.

But God broke me in a way. I have truly never been the same. And what I'm going to talk to you about this week are all the pieces, really.

This week, I hope, will be a life-changing week on the Five Word Prayers Daily for you too.

If you've been listening to the show from the start, you'll know that in the very beginning,

in show three, I think, in fact, we prayed this five-word prayer, help me want you most.

If you haven't listened, go back and listen to that show, because in it I talk a lot about how God really broke me in 2012 and led me to

write a book called I Want God. But more importantly, he led me on a spiritual journey of my own

heart, which became the book I Want God, a book that truly changed my life and has changed many

other people's lives, all thanks to Jesus who really wrote every word. I believe it.

It was a Holy Spirit experience. I'll tell you that. I won't rehash what I said on there,

but I will just say this. What we want drives everything in life we do, and wanting God the most

is the game changer of life for this reason. It drives everything else.

Every decision, every love, every tolerance, everything we watch and listen to and how we live our

life, it does. So this week I want to pull that apart and talk about what things get in our way.

I call them little G gods. They keep us from wanting God most.

But today I want to read the blog post from back in 2012 when God started me on this journey because in it, I believe there may be some words for you.
