I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Well, today is the continuing conversation about receiving. He just couldn't possibly get it all in yesterday.

0:20.3

And I hope you're getting a glimpse

0:21.5

into why it's important to see receiving as something to pay attention to and pray about in your

0:25.8

life if this is something like so many of us that you struggle with. Maybe you don't think you

0:31.2

struggle with it, but after today, you just might change your mind. What our receiving refusers are,

1:21.8

downplay it or get out of it all together? A lot of us feel awkward when a compliment comes our

1:27.2

way, but some of us are just

1:28.5

literally feel almost nauseated by a compliment. What about the receiving refuser of a gift? How do you do

1:37.0

when someone wants to give you a gift? Do you happily accept it without thought to what they might

1:41.9

possibly have to gain from it, what their angle is,

1:44.8

or what they may be trying to get from you? Or do you feel put out in some way because you feel like,

1:49.7

oh no, now I'm going to owe them a gift. So you almost wish they'd never given you anything.
