Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

It is Good Friday, Crucifixion Friday before my favorite Easter Sunday, and the day we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord, and

happy Good Friday to you.

I hope you celebrate this weekend all weekend because it means everything to the Christian

faith, and I couldn't talk about anything else on this Good Friday than our good God,

and what it really means when we say, God is good. You ready to explore it?

God is good all the time, all the time, God is good. We've heard this phrase said, right? Yeah,

I've heard it a lot. And I believe it, absolutely.

God is good no matter what, because circumstances don't change the person that I believe in and

I've given my life to. When we give our hearts to Jesus, we aren't giving a casual allegiance.

We are committing to a person that we love and trust no matter what, even if and always.

I have friends who have buried a husband or wife or buried a child or a parent, and months before

they went to heaven, they pray, God, heal my husband from cancer or heal my child from this disease.

And for whatever reason, only heaven knows, God never

did. And those are those even if moments where I think the rubber meets the road and we're faced with,

is God still good even if the cancer doesn't get healed? It's tough, really, because I think it's easy

to say, well, he's still God. He's still

the creator. He's still in charge. And I know I need to still honor him. But the question is,

is he still good? That's a different one. And it's a difficult one for sure. Here's what I think

God is good doesn't mean. It doesn't mean he makes sense.

We have to settle that God is still good even when he doesn't make sense because if we don't
