Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

0:07.8

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

0:14.3

So today is part two of our relationships conversation, and yesterday we talked about what to do with the hard feelings we get from people

0:21.7

who betray us or let us down and today we're going to talk about how to know when it's time

0:26.3

to end a relationship or really bring anything to an end. We'll come right back to it in just a minute.

0:45.2

Just recently I was doing a social media Instagram live and someone asked me this question,

0:48.2

how do I know when it's time to end something?

0:52.8

I thought it was a great question, and it's an important question because the truth is a lot of us don't really know how to

0:55.0

1:12.5

just like we do beginnings, because how we handle ending things determines a lot about the health

1:17.8

of people moving forward and the condition of our own heart as well, I believe. I've talked on here

1:23.9

before about how my husband and I started and closed a church in 13 months, which

1:28.4

by the way, is really hard on your heart. I don't necessarily recommend it, but it is what happened.

1:33.9

And how we actually took more care in ending this church than we did in starting it, which I also

1:41.3

don't necessarily recommend. I think you should really take equal care in both.

1:46.3

But we did understand that the way that you end things must be done right in order to honor God.

1:53.4

That's true in church plants and relationships. And if you think about it, even a good book or

1:58.6

movie ending, right? Who likes a terrible ending of an otherwise

2:02.8

awesome movie? It literally ruins the whole thing, I think. So when it comes to relationships,

2:09.2

I think there are definitely times we need to bring them to an end. It doesn't mean we don't
