Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

Today and tomorrow, we're going to dive into relationships a bit, and today I'm going to ask you a question.

I think I already know the answer to,

but here goes anyway. Have you ever been let down by someone you really trusted, maybe even

willfully betrayed? I know we all have at some point, and I'm not sure anything hurts worse.

I want to talk about this a bit on the show today and talk about what to do with hard feelings

in a relationship.

And I'll tell you something I did recently when dealing with this that God used to help me

move past. Being betrayed or let down by someone you trusted or highly regarded is one of the great heartbreaks of life, in my opinion.

It's why some people have walked away from the church altogether.

They were literally so disappointed or let down by a pastor or leader.

They decided church wasn't worth it. Leaders were all f leader, they decided church wasn't worth it.

Leaders were all fakes or worse, Jesus wasn't worth it. And that makes me the saddest of all

because, as we all know, humans do many things that Jesus gets blamed for, especially ones

who preach him and claim him. And the truth is, he's just as grieved by the actions as we are more so, really.

But when someone we love or trust or highly regard lets us down in a personal relationship,

especially, we often don't know what to do with those hard feelings.

They're just rolling around in our head and our heart and we can't seem to move past

the disappointment or anger the situation has left us with.

Just recently, I had this happen to me, and it was a tough time for me in my life.

I've been there before, but not for quite a while.
