Let me ask you a question. When you look at society as a whole, what do you think we base our life decisions on for the most part? A, convictions, or

B, feelings. Think about that for a minute and we'll discuss it when we come right back.

So today is sort of a part two of our discussion on commitment and parenting, but where

yesterday was directed to us as parents and our commitment to our kids, today is all about a life

principle we need to really be driving home with them, I think. And by the way, it's not just something

they need to learn about or remember, but something

a lot of us as adults struggle with as well. We're talking about making decisions in life and

basing them on something more than the way we feel. If you don't think this is a problem,

please consider with me the following scenarios. Road rage, crimes of passion, quitting school,

leaving your family, drinking and driving,

sleeping around.

On the other end of the spectrum,

how about crying at the altar at summer camp

going right back to

the lifestyle you confess to God and said you weren't going to do anymore. All of these things

are things that are done based on feelings at the time, doing what we felt like doing, not

counting the cost, doing what felt good or easy, or whatever, instead of staying true or
