Hi and welcome to Five Word Prayers Daily, a five day a week daily devotional where we share the word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray, will be five minutes well spent.

Today is a kickoff for what our next three weeks, yes, I said three weeks, will be, so I'm glad you're here so that you'll get the

foundation for what we're going to be talking about. I'm so excited about what we're going to

be doing for the rest of this month. It's a word study. We're going to be looking at three

words, actually, from one scripture that we'll look at today to set us up for it. And it's

the very bottom line way Jesus told the Israelites through Moses

that they would need to live. So we're going to go over these three things today and then for the

next three weeks pull these words apart with a different lesson for every day, obviously,

but really dive into each word and make it the focus of the week because they're hugely important

to let us know how to live in 2018 and well beyond, obviously.

It's a good. In Deuteronomy 30, Moses' third address to the Israelites is they're all gathered together.

It's actually right before Moses is about to die.

And it's also right before the Israelites are about to enter into the promised land.

Moses speaks very straight to them and calls them out and calls them back to the Lord. And really in the last part of this chapter, tells them as plain as

he can that their very life depends on what they do. In fact, he says in verse 15, now listen,

today I'm giving you a choice between prosperity and disaster

between life and death. You really can't get any more clear cut and come to Jesus than that,

can you? Right. He warns them. He does all that he can really because he knows that when they're

about to get to the promised land, they will be tempted to forget

about God and their position of plenty, which, by the way, is the same position that we get into.
