I got to tell you, man, I am 10 years in on this podcast and I got admit, man, I'm having more fun than ever doing it. It is, it is, uh,

it is wild to see the, uh, shape the show is taking on and the guests and the listeners ship. It's just been a fantastic, uh,

year. I know it's, I know you can't say that right. You can't celebrate a good year during pandemic, right?

You can't be like, yeah, I've had a great year, but I mean, thank God for the podcast. Um, I would have, I would have gone crazy. I would have been done. I would have been done during that whole lockdown. If I didn't have this podcast and if I didn't have you guys and my baby,

mama, good, my French bully. Anyway, what a guest today. Every once in a while you run into somebody that is an absolute music freak like yourself and then you just stop and go, whoa, this person gets it.

And you could be in a party unexpected in the corner of the room. You're like, this party sucks. And then somebody rolls up and you're looking to put on some fucking record and they're like, uh, yeah, you like Tom Wade's bone machine. You're like, fuck yeah, like Tom Wade's bone machine. Oh, so do I.

And then boom, you're off to the races, just diving deep into heavy music talk, looking like a couple of co-heads in the corner, going crazy. You don't even know where you're at.

You're just in a corner of some party. You don't even know the party's going on anymore. You're just in this intense, incredible music talk. And that is exactly what happened a few days ago with my guest, the host of the session.

His name is Christian James Hand. And as I left, I was wondering like, if my last name was hand, I would definitely be Mr. Hand from the great film.

Uh, fast times at Ridgemont High. I would be like, Mr. Hand. You can call me Mr. Hand. Mr. Hand is such a cool fucking name. Anyway, so is Christian James Hand.

That's got, that's got that three, uh, three name thing going on. I love it. I was turned on by him, um, by our mutual friend, John Mayer.

And, uh, it's, it's just great, great to have this guy on the show. He, what he does is he basically takes your favorite song. Let's say it's purple rain.

And he has what they call the stems, the tracks, and he can solo up that stuff one by one. Let you hear what the bass player is doing on his own. Let you hear the drummer. Let you hear the singer, acapella.

You'll be hearing songs the way you've never heard them before about 99% of you. Some people are out there and have heard stuff like this. I have over the years, but I've only heard a few because I just, uh, I just haven't dove down the rabbit hole.

There are some on YouTube. I once in a while, I'll listen to it like a Malcolm Young just soloed up rhythm guitar. I'll sit there and listen to that. Or you can hear like David Lee Roth singing Jamie's crying, soloed up all that kind of stuff. It's out there.

And I feel like in the next couple of weeks, I'll probably dive down the rabbit hole and see what's what more is out there. Love of course Zeppelin. Here's some pink Floyd. Here's some Tom weights. Tom weights solo like to hear that guy's vocal. You know, go and now where's the going to be?

Love that fucking guy's voice. Anyway, Christian was a fantastic guest and I want to thank the smoke and tire for letting us record this in their studio. And I'm looking forward to having Matt from the smoke and tire on the grail in the future. He will be a guest.

I want to day that was over there recording this show and seeing all those great cars. Unbelievable. I just got back from the desert of course and I stayed once again at my favorite place on earth. Hawking Mesa.

It is just one of the best Airbnb's I've ever been in and this is not an advertisement. I am just telling you Hawking Mesa is my decompressor, my escape, my complete.

I don't know what would you call it just super chill something. It's it's an incredible house on 132 acres out there behind Pioneer Town in a place called Piper's Canyon.

Close to Gamma Goldch it was incredible. Got to see my good friend J. Buchanan from the rival sons. He was out there in his own little Airbnb writing lyrics and songs for the new rival sons and I did get a little preview of that.
