I'm going to tell you there's a thunderstorm that just ripped through the area and I think we're in the clear,

0:05.2

but if we interrupt the show because I need to go, you know, start a generator or something,

0:10.3

then my apologies. But it should be fine. I think we're through the thick of it that

0:13.8

sounds really hardcore I'm gotta go start my generator everybody well the thing of it

0:17.4

is that I think I've told this story somewhere but my parents live only 45

0:22.2

minutes west of me, but their area loses power regularly,

0:26.0

and they got this like obscenely expensive, ridiculous Honda inverter generator that weighs 85,000 pounds and well then they

0:35.2

ended up getting a generac or whatever whole home generator and they were like here

0:38.1

you can borrow this forever and so I've had or we have had this ridiculously nice Honda generator in our garage for probably five-ish years now.

0:49.0

And I believe I've used it once for about 30 from 35 minutes and that's it because is around the time that they not bequeathed but bequeathed the generator

0:56.9

that's when the power company cut down a bunch of trees that were near the lines leading into the neighborhood because the lines outside the neighborhood are

1:03.8

are lines or above ground lines and the stuff inside the neighborhood is

1:08.4

underground so well the the law of you know large equipment that you buy for yourself for some kind of special conditions

1:17.4

is that the moment you, first of all the moment you buy it, that condition will probably never

1:21.3

happen again.

1:22.3

But certainly if that condition happens probably never happen again. But certainly if that condition

1:23.9

happens you will need it for the briefest of time. So the moment you start your

1:27.8

generator the power will come back on. Correct. Assuming you can get it started

1:30.8

after it's been sitting in your house for seven years

1:33.0

without ever being started. Well right in that case if you can't get it started the

1:36.2

power will stay up for three days. But yeah I don't know it hopefully will not be an

1:39.9

issue but if suddenly I disappear or get very very quiet it's not because I'm sleepy, even though I am, it's because we lost power.
