The caller shares his struggles with passive behavior, resentment, and guilt stemming from an authoritarian upbringing. They discuss the impact of his family dynamics on his marriage, emphasizing the importance of setting boundaries with abusive relatives. I'm fine, you. Thank you very much for joining and giving me this opportunity to talk with you.

0:09.2

No, it's my pleasure. I guess, as always, I'm sorry for the circumstances, but I'm certainly happy to help out as best I can. So lay it on me.

0:19.8

Yeah, I would like to introduce a little bit my situation.

0:25.9

I'm a 30-year-old South European guy,

0:31.8

and I define myself as in in general, until like starting my path towards self-knowledge, let's say, and philosophy and in general, this kind of subjects.

0:48.7

I define myself as NPC, generically, probably because I look at myself of the past and I don't even recognize

1:01.0

myself.

1:24.6

I tried to, let's say, build patterns between my childhood, my past and

these personality traits, and I found out that I had many dysfunctional behaviors that I didn't

1:41.5

even recognize at the time. And I'm actually glad of the improvement I did in the

1:48.6

last couple of years, especially. And I'm generally happy with my life. I have a good marriage

1:57.8

and I have a lovely person, let's say.

2:02.4

And so I'm happy about that.

2:05.8

But still, I have some, let's say, some aspects of my personality that even if I

2:13.9

rationally try to understand and also maybe repressed, let's say, I still feel emotionally

2:22.1

very, very strong. And sometimes my first gut instinct is to get back to those kind of influences

2:34.0

and this kind of moods.

2:36.0

While I try to rationally not activate them, let's say,

2:43.0

like for example, I feel like I need to be recognized.
