Summary

Today on a brand new episode of Let There Be Talk my guest is the legend Geoff Tate former Vocalist and Songwriter of Queensrÿche.

In 1983 a song came of the radio called Queen Of The Reich and the game changed. Immediately I went out and bought the Queensrÿche EP and never stopped listening to them.

Over the years Geoff and the band have written some of the best Metal records ever including their masterpiece Operation Mindcrime.

This mans vocals have inspired 1000's of singers over our time and I gotta say it was an absolute honer to have him on the show.

Geoff has a new record coming out in April with Sweet Oblivion called Relentless.

it was a long, long travel day yesterday, and it was my first

road gig in a year as far as going out and headlining out of the state. It was my first commercial flight

out of the state getting on a public airplane with humans.

And I got to tell you, it was weird. It was weird to be back out there

working. I've only got a couple dates on the

0:46.1

calendar or the books as they would say, but it's

0:50.7

it's something. It's something. It's definitely not back to normal. That's going to be a long ways away, but I

0:59.7

did fly to Des Moines, Iowa on Friday. And I did three shows at a fantastic new club called Tee

1:09.4

He's. And I got to tell you, I had a great time. And a lot of that had to do with the surprise of

1:16.8

how cool Des Moines was. It was actually kind of amazing. They had great food. The people were cool.

1:26.8

And the, you know, the club owner said and Dave and AJ and Pete there, all those guys

1:36.5

running and owning that place. Just top notch. I hope they keep it like that. I've, I've

1:44.2

always been to places over the years where you go early on. You're like, it's great. And then

1:49.3

as you go and go and go, it changes and evolves into a business. But I don't think that's going

1:55.5

to happen with these guys. It's very, very rock and roll. It's non corporate. It's what you want

2:01.8

in a comedy club. They care about the comics. They care about the local scene. And it was, it was

2:09.3

refreshing. And it made up for my atrocious travel, which on Thursday, I got an email saying

2:19.8

basically, your fight's going to be probably changed or canceled. And I called United and they're

2:26.4

like, yeah, that's what it is. And I was like, we got anything else. And they're like, no,

2:31.9

now it's like, well, I don't want to let the club down. And a lot of fans and bought tickets.

2:39.6

They were, the shows were sold out. And don't get excited. It was about 70 per show. It's not like
