And I get that. And in that light recently I've seen quite a few stories of people who in their love life struggle with being hopeful because they've been with people, they've dated people whose motivation was very, very selfish.

I don't know if it's just the old social media algorithm

or something in the air, but I've been hearing story after story of people

who have felt incredibly used by their former partners,

used in the sense of being with someone and that person used them for selfish reasons,
