| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Nancy Wilson's Feminine Podcast. This audio is brought to you by Canon Press. |
| 0:15.0 | Welcome to the Feminine Podcast. This is Nancy Wilson. Thank you for joining me today. |
| 0:21.0 | I got a question the other day that I thought would make a good topic here on Feminine. |
| 0:26.0 | A lady wrote in asking how to make a Christian home from scratch when you didn't grow up in a Christian home and your children are already in their teens or approaching their teenage years. |
| 0:40.0 | And I thought this is such a good question. So I'm going to skip part two of the tongue, the wise tongue for today. I'll pick that up later and just change the subject here for this podcast. |
| 0:54.0 | So here it goes. Obviously there is no starter kit available to do this to make the Christian home. |
| 1:02.0 | But I'm going to hopefully just give some suggestions and help to this person and hopefully to many of the rest of you might need to hear the same thing. |
| 1:13.0 | So first of all, to make a Christian home, we have to approach this by faith. |
| 1:20.0 | God is the only one who can transform our homes into Christian homes. |
| 1:26.0 | Now, I have mentioned this perhaps here before, but being a very young Christian when I got married and marrying a man who had grown up in a Christian home, you know, I had to get some of my perspectives adjusted. |
| 1:40.0 | For example, when our first born told a lie at age to wish, I was shocked, said Doug, this is a Christian home. What do we do with a child who lies? |
| 1:56.0 | How can this be? And he said, Nancy, you know, what do you think I got spank for growing up? You know, this is just a Christian home is not a home where sin doesn't happen. |
| 2:09.0 | And I know it sounds extremely naive of me, but I had just never anticipated that. |
| 2:15.0 | So I was very much at your spot in a sense of like, how do we make a Christian home? |
| 2:23.0 | Because the home I grew up in was a God for you know, but not a Christian home in this way at all. |
| 2:29.0 | So of course, God is the only one who can transform our homes. And even if you're well into it as a Christian woman, you may need to remember this like things can start going sideways a little bit. |
| 2:42.0 | And you've got to direct your prayers this way and ask God to use you to be a tool in his hand to build a godly Christian home. |
| 2:53.0 | And then not only should you be praying and asking God to do this amazing thing, transforming your home, but you simply as a Christian mother and wife need to be a consistent joy filled Christian yourself, right? |
| 3:13.0 | You have to be you have to be that kind of person. He will work the leaven through the lump of dough. That is not up to you. That is God's work. |
| 3:26.0 | So as we begin this subject, we have to realize who is it who really makes a Christian home. And of course, it's God who does that. |
| 3:35.0 | But we there are things we can do certainly as we are approaching this whole amazing subject. So since you're asking God to transform your home, you have to recognize you can't do it yourself. It is truly a work of the spirit. |
| 3:52.0 | So don't think that you can simply announce to the family. This is now a Christian home. |
