Just one person in just one time. Hello, hey, how's it going? Welcome to the Other People podcast. I'm Brad Listy, and I'm in Los Angeles. It is good to be with you. It's a Sunday episode. What do you think about that? I decided to do a Sunday episode. I have Chloe Oregis on the program today. She has a new novel out from Catapult Press. It is called Sea Monsters. And I'm

fortunate to have caught Chloe. She makes her home in London over in the UK. And she was out here

briefly on book tour and was kind enough to come over and talk with me. So that conversation is

coming up basically right now. I do want to offer a bit of context as we get underway.

You're going to hear Chloe and I talking about an author who is sadly no longer with us and who took his own life.

His name, which we do not say clearly in the conversation, is Edward LeVay.

So I just want you to have that bit of information so that you're

not confused and wondering. Edward LeVay was a French author and published a small handful of books

in his lifetime, most notably one called Auto Portrait, which is sitting right here on my shelf.

And when Chloe came over and sat down, she saw it and we

started talking about it. So that's what initiated this particular line of conversation. We start out

there and, you know, obviously the conversation takes off in different directions thereafter.
