Welcome to the Game Change Your Life. I'm Dave Anderson in our Agora Hills, California studio.

And the topic I wanted to discuss with you today is simply this, guidelines for getting the right job. Now, you may not be in the market now. You may know someone who is. And perhaps you don't think you're in the market now and tomorrow you might be. We don't know what the future holds. But I talked a lot in my seminars and in books about when you're hiring how to get the right

candidate.

But what if the roles are reversed and you're looking to land in a great place?

You can be a game changer and you can be bringing all the right things to the table.

But if you're in the wrong role, if you're in the wrong culture, if you're a bad

fit, it's going to be really frustrating. And all those attributes you're bringing to the table may

never truly get activated. They certainly may not be noticed. So this is not a total list,

but it's a pretty good list. I'm going to go over maybe seven, eight, nine things to look for maybe that you haven't thought about that you can apply for yourself or to share.

Maybe you have a kid getting out of college and they're going and, you know, testing the waters out there.

I mean, these are things to help people be able to take the skills,

knowledge, talents that they have, and be able to apply them and leverage them in the right role,

at the right place, in the right culture. That's what we're looking for here. And so these are a no,

a particular order of importance. I'm just going to rattle them off. I don't think this is going to be a really long episode.

But one thing you want to look at,

and you can find out a lot about these things with Google today,

especially if you're applying in a high profile type of company.

What happened?

What has happened to pass people in this role?

Where did they go? Did they advance? That's something you want to know. You know, you can get in a role where there's nowhere to go.
