Summary

Are you building healthy boundaries, or putting up restricting walls? With the former taking center stage amongst the collective, it’s an important question to ask.  This episode was inspired by the journey Krista’s been on to have deep and real intimacy in her relationships – a growing desire to untangle defensive mechanisms that create negative static between people and move toward a more heart-centered exchange with the people in and around her life.  The truth is that some forms of boundary building have evolved into a method for gaslighting ourselves, a means to create a cozy victimhood to hide away in, an excuse for closing ourselves off from things, situations, or people that may expand us. We also talk about: A different angle of boundary building  What boundaries are meant to be Honesty and open heartedness Building walls makes a victim  How to receive a boundary The need for control Wall building instance from Krista’s life Good friction between two people Bad examples from The Hills Leaning into love and connectedness Resources: Read: Conscious Loving by Gay and Katie Hendricks Join our community: almost30.com/membership facebook.com/Almost30podcast/groups Podcast disclaimer can be found by visiting: almost30.com/disclaimer.  Find more to love at almost30.com! Hello and welcome to almost 30 podcast. My name is Christa Williams and I am so glad

0:13.0

you're here. I am Sans Bestie today, my best friend and co-host Lindsey Simpsick. It

0:19.4

is just me. We're doing a solo episode. We are talking about walls versus boundaries,

0:24.4

maybe we are talking about something that I know deeply and intimately. I have been on both

0:29.9

sides of the boundary and wall conversation as someone that has put up boundaries successfully,

0:35.9

unsuccessfully and I've put up walls. Well, successfully, but it's an unsuccessful tactic.

0:40.4

So I've done both in and our solo episodes. We like to dig into any of the teachings that

0:45.6

we're really into, anything we're noticing, anything that's really been helpful for our lives,

0:50.5

that we're hopeful we could help you with as well. So almost 30, you don't need to be 30 to listen,

0:56.0

we've been around for about six years now. We are a brand and community. We have courses and

1:00.1

programs, a membership, events, all of the things, but we are here to support you in your conscious

1:06.3

evolution. We are here to support your process of ascension on earth, of your growth, and that is

1:12.7

my mission, that is why I'm here. And I really love doing these solos. I've really loved the

1:18.0

empath work that I've been digging into and this conversation feels so close to home. It feels like

1:24.5

one of those that I have just been jazzed about. I've actually recorded this episode a few times,

1:29.7

which is not like me at all. And I just have felt like I really want to get it right as right as I

1:35.6

can. I really want to speak from my heart and I think it's a really important conversation and

1:40.1

distinction. And I know how psyched and jazzed everyone is about boundaries. I feel like everyone

1:45.6

is like boundary happy. Instotherapy world is so jazzed about boundaries. Everyone's like boundaries,

1:51.1

boundaries. And so when I come in with a little bit of a different perspective, I'm always mindful

1:57.9

of what I'm saying. And I'm always trying to just put a little offering for you to think about

2:04.4

the ways in which your boundaries could actually be walls that are a defense mechanism,
