I'd like to get a little bit more time for myself to, I don't know, watch better movies and read novels and just engage with art that isn't. well, first of all, I spend a huge amount of

my time just like shoveling coal into the content furnace by watching movies like, you know,

Dead Poet Society. And as I was watching Dead Poet Society today, which we'll get to,

God, will we get to it? I thought to myself, like, God, there's a whole goddamn galaxy of better stuff than this out

there.

And, you know, a couple nights ago, I thought, you know, I'd like to reacquaint myself with

my old friend, our old friend, Mr. Jean-Luc Goddard, and I watched his movie Film Socialism.

Famously inscrutable film.

Yeah, one of his most difficult films, definitely.

And I really had a great time watching it this time.

And watching it 10 or 15 years after it first came out, I was thinking, like, God, this guy

in some ways, like, this is late style, so extreme that it predicted the future.

There are stuff in this movie, the way that he's using just high-res digital, low-res

digital, like cell phone footage.

You know, he's putting in cat videos.

This is like scrolling social media.

This is a poem of the cameras everywhere panopticon.

to find more of a way to just give myself the emotional and time bandwidth to engage with very
