On September 16, 1994, sixty-two students at Ariel School in Zimbabwe witnessed something incredible. In his fantastic documentary, Ariel Phenomenon, Randall Nickerson explores the close encounter these schoolchildren experienced. Over twenty-five years later, this incident is still fresh in their memories. They continue to search for answers – and the courage to speak their truth.

Just wanted to say, you know, if you're ever looking for a way out or at least for a long

break, it's not as hard as it might seem.

I mean at least if you don't have anything tying you down like a family or like a career

You know what I've been doing is I work in Canada for maybe four or five months out

I work in like wilderness lodges, remote wilderness lodges.

Even work is like a cook or a housekeeper or whatever.

Do that for maybe four or five months and then they pay for your room and board.

You save your money and then you take it somewhere that money goes like ten times further,

like a place in Southeast Asia or South America.

For example, I'm now in month two of living in Columbia.

I'd spent the prior four months to that living and close to Alaska working on a lodge, on

a big boat in the kitchen.

And yeah, it's sustainable.

It's a way that I don't have to work very much and I don't have to, you know, stick with

one career for a long time. I can just kind of work for a season, save money, go traveling

and then go work for another few months and wash with rinse and repeat.
