every stupid thing that a writer could do i've done i I think it's really beautiful. What a struggle, you know? It was incredible. It was like your head exploded, seeing what was really there. And now here's your host, Brad Listy. Just one person at just one time. Hi, hey, hey, how's it going? This is the Other People podcast. I am Brad Listy. It's nice to be with you. I'm in Los Angeles. We're on fire. There's smoke, billowing from the hills. Malibu has been evacuated. Kanye and Kim had to leave their house. It's really been kind of a disaster out here. And then we had the shooting in Thousand Oaks, another mass shooting. And one of the

victims, like narrowly escaped, the Vegas shooting last year, I think things are pretty fucked up.

I'm just going to go out on a limb. We had the election this week. On a positive note, the Democrats

now have control of the House. We have one branch of government. There's going to be a check on power, which we so desperately need. That's not nothing. I think we should celebrate that. I don't think we should be overly positive. I think there's still a lot of danger. I think this lame duck congressional session that we're in right now is going to be very eventful and consequential and a lot could happen. And much of that might

be very bad. So stay awake, stay loud, stay engaged, would be my advice. I, you know, it's like

trying to manage the emotions associated with like, oh God, climate change,

cities on fire, smoke in the air, air quality, terrible, you know, developing a cold

from breathing particulate matter.

Oh, a shooting, not far from home,

multiple people dead, crazy, deranged, mentally damaged human being takes gun into bar. It's a bar

that my wife used to go to back when she was in college. You know, we know, one of the victims, like, you know, one of the aunts or uncles is somebody that she, you know, it's like, it's not that far away, and it just gets to be exhausting.

So, I don't know, just trying to parse the week. A lot happens every day in the world.
