Welcome to the Huntback Country podcast. This is episode number 547, and our guest is one of you, a listener of the show.

Jim joins us in this before the hunt episode about his doll sheep hunt in the Northwest

territories. Now a quick caveat up front, I dropped the ball with this episode as well as Jim's

after the hunt episode. And these are actually from the 2024 season. So no less helpful,

no less epic of a story, excited to share it with you. But I did want to provide that context

and just let you know that this was actually

last hunting season. In a mix of a bunch of podcast files and crazy schedules and things like

that, I realized I had been sitting on these meant to release them earlier, but hey, a little bit

later is better than never. And once again, there's so much to take away from this.

So as I often mention with these episodes,

when you have a big hunt like Northwest Territories, dull sheep,

that's not a hunt that all of us listening are going to go do.

A few of us will go do it.

My goal is to always learn from these types of hunts and apply that to our own

experience. So in this before the hunt conversation, we talk about a ton of different aspects in

terms of choosing guides and outfitters, logistics and traveling for hunts, training, gear,

and a whole lot more. And then in the next episode, we'll obviously have the after the hunt story.

Spoiler alert, Jim killed a great ram.
