Hi there. Thanks for listening to the Sister Circle podcast.

My name is Crystal Evanshurst, and I'm your host. Thanks for tuning in to another episode of the podcast that's designed to help you live your life well and to make it a life you love. Listen, you get to choose. I don't know about you,

0:30.6

but I am sick of social media. I get sick of it. I enjoy it. I want to consume it. I may lay in bed at night for hours on it, but I don't like

0:40.3

having to produce for it. I am a person who's been podcasting for 10 years. I've been on YouTube now

0:47.4

for gosh, five years. I have an email that most weeks goes out every week. I have a membership. I have coaching. I've got

0:57.9

courses. I even have an app. That means that people expect to see me in places. And if I want to let people

1:04.1

know what I'm doing in my life and if I want them to be able to connect with me and the very

1:08.4

important ways for which I'm here in this world, I got to tell

1:11.8

them.

1:12.6

And tell them means you got to send an email.

1:15.2

And tell them means you got to make sure you're making announcements.

1:19.1

And tell them means, shucks, be on social media.

1:23.5

And one of the things that I have been struggling with for a long time is what it looks like to

1:28.2

have a social media that's on brand. What is that even? What is on brand? Because here's what I can

1:33.5

tell you. When I really look on brand, that's because I have gotten dressed in clothes that I don't

1:38.8

want to wear and also that I have put on makeup that I actually don't want to put on either.

2:01.2

I'm not saying there's not a place for that. There is a place for me to kind of look my best and be my extra special terrestrial crystal version. I could do that. But most of the time, on brand for me is just regular every day. I mean, I did good for y'all today. I've got on a jacket over what amounts to basically a moo-moo. I buy these same mummoos off of Amazon all the doggone time. And when they get frazzled, get a hole in them or get stained, you want to know what I do? I go back and buy two or three more because mummoos or a t-shirt and yoga pants is what I want to do every day. The reason why my hairs and braids right now is because trying to be a content creator and live on brand means your

hairs. t-shirt and yoga pants is what I want to do every day. The reason why my hair is in braids right

2:17.9

now is because trying to be a content creator and live on brand means your hair is supposed to be done. And I don't want to think about doing my hair. I just want to wake up, show up, sit here and talk to you. Living an on-brand life, man, it is work. It is work. And even if you don't do anything to make sure you look a certain way when you

2:35.9

show up, you still have to show up. You still got to record the content. You still got to make the

2:41.4

dog on real. You still have to create the caption. You still have to go out here and make sure

2:47.0

that you're being consistent. Oh my goodness. You're supposed to reply to the people in the
