So we want to talk about the little PSA that was created for the show, which we very much

appreciate about the flu vaccine.

That's right.

This is a friendly reminder from your buddy Marcus to get your flu vaccine

if you're medically able. Hello, Marcus. Flu season in the U.S. starts in October and the vaccine

takes about two weeks to become effective. It's covered for free under many health insurance plans

and it's typically $30 or less if it's not covered. It's important to note that the reason we get

flu vaccines is not to protect ourselves, but to protect the vulnerable people in our lives, like the elderly, young children, and the sick.

During the 2018-2019 flu season, between 36,000 and 61,000 people in the U.S. died from the flu.

If everyone who could get vaccinated did so, there would be many fewer deaths.

So go get poked.

So the important thing here is, like Marcus said, the flu season is getting ready to ramp up,

and it takes two weeks to become effective.
